Introducing David Kimbrough, Continuum's newest counselor/consultant

With just three months under his EAP belt, our newest staff member David Kimbrough has shown his strengths in organizational management and counseling are as diverse as his work history. Carrying himself with quiet confidence, David brings to Continuum expertise in training, management and administration, and a working knowledge of community-based programs. He also recently completed certification in Financial Social Work. David remarks that the variety of his professional experiences over the years has prepared him well for the breadth of services Continuum encompasses.

Being a supervisor in the past has refined his own process-oriented approach to leadership and problem solving. Understanding that people function in different systems also helps him “meet them where they’re at,” first identifying simple solutions and connecting with their own resourcefulness. Noting EAP has allowed more direct care with counseling services, he is excited to have a part in seeing people make progress — even those who may have accessed services through a company-initiated referral.

Having been in administration and management, David offers a distinct advantage when partnering with workplace supervisors for employee development through work-performance coaching or facilitating training sessions. From his supervisory experience, he understands how critical it is to coordinate with employers to help employees tend to any issues impeding their work and get them on a positive track.

David reiterates the nature of his work requires him to plan downtime each evening to recharge. He is a long-time music lover and enjoys recording in his home studio. At the age of 14, David began teaching himself to play the electric guitar. And for the past 10 years, he has volunteered his time and musical talent performing with his church’s worship team.
